Gurara Waterfalls

This waterfall is located in Gurara, a local government area of Niger state. The waterfall is approximately 30 meters high and it lies on the Gurara river. This river is largely in full spate during the rainy season. It is an hour drive out of the city of Abuja.

GURARA waterfall got it’s name from a neighboring village-from two gods formerly worshiped by the Gwari people (Gura and Rara)

It was discovered by a hunter named “Buba”. The Gurara river is a large tributary of “River Niger” it is always full in rainy season but low in dry season. It is more safe to swim in the river during the rainy season, it forms clear pool at the bottom of the falls that visitors can swim in and have fun.

It is a beautiful place for bird watching. There are plans to turn the place to a tourist resort and build 7 star hotel around it.

Farin Ruwa Waterfalls

This waterfall is located in Wamba local government area of Nassarawa state. It is a beautiful sight to behold. It is one of the highest waterfall in Africa, with a height of 492 feet. It is a beautiful place for lovers to enjoy themselves with an amazing view of white smoke enveloping the mountain from a distance. Great photos can be taken in this waterfalls. One can sit and meditate in this place, apart from its beauty, it is also quiet and the atmosphere is beautiful.

The fall peak is around April and November every year and it’s a great period to visit.
It is great for tourism and plans are been made by the government to develop the waterfall into international tourism standard. The Nassarawa state government is investing millions of dollars to build chalets and a hotel complex, golf course, amuse park among others that will attract a large number of tourist.

Erin-ijesha Waterfalls

This is also known as Olumirin waterfalls. It is located in Oriade local government area, Osun State, Nigeria. It was discovered by one of the daughters of Oduduwa. The falls feature seven falls, on top of which the village, Abake is located. According to those who visited the river, they testified that it has medicinal properties, and people come from different parts of the world to drink from the waterfall and be healed.

During the yearly festival dedicated to the Osun goddess, people from all walks of life visit the river. It is a tourist resort. Photographs are taken and people celebrate the waterfall.

Matsirgar Waterfalls

This waterfall is situated in Kaduna, northern part of Nigeria. This waterfalls is one of the most beautiful and irresistible waterfall. It is a lovely sight to behold, with bubbles of clean water dropping down the rock with beautiful sound filling the background. This is a cool spot for picnic and shooting music video.

Owu Waterfall

Agbokim Waterfall

This waterfall is located in cross river, Calabar. It is said that rainbow comes out at certain period of the year and shine across the face of the water.

Visitors who are lucky to be in the waterfall at this time of the rainbow can get a thrill out of it and snap great photographs. It is a secluded, serene waterfall that enables you to escape from the noise of the city.
